About Romy Ellis

A Little About Myself

My name is Romy Ellis, and I immigrated to New Orleans in September 2009.   I received my certification to teach Japanese as a Second Language in Japan in 2005, and have been teaching Japanese ever since.

I believe the best way to learn is in a fun environment, so I try my best to make sure all lessons are enjoyable, but challenging at the same time.   I also strive to make each lesson tailored to your specific goals and keep track of your progress  to make sure we meet those goals.

On a personal note, I really love to cook, and have been learning how to make traditional New Orleans foods,  like gumbo and red beans and rice.  I also love animals and volunteer part-time at the SPCA animal shelter and events.
