The focus is on speaking practice, so you'll get plenty of opportunities to speak and build confidence, with the teacher guiding you along the way!

Beginner A03: Making friends!

Ready to take your Japanese to the next level? In this fun and engaging course, we’ll explore how Japanese sentences really work, helping you build confidence in expressing yourself.

The theme this time is “Making friends” – we learn not only how to introduce yourself, but also how to ask questions so that you can make new friends!

This course is ideal for learners who already know the basics and are excited to continue their learning journey.

The second series of our “Beginner: 1st Time in Japan!” This course is perfect for beginners eager to explore Japan and enjoy activities like shopping. You’ll focus on speaking practice, with plenty of opportunities to build confidence and improve your conversational skills. With your teacher’s friendly guidance and support, you’ll feel empowered and ready to dive into real-life conversations.

Beginner A04: Daily life & plans

In this course, we’ll start learning how to make sentences with verbs—an exciting step toward expressing yourself more fully in Japanese! Our goal isn’t just to talk about your daily life and plans, but also to ask your friends about theirs, so you can invite them to do something fun together. Plus, we’ll explore some useful tips and tricks to make your speaking sound even more natural!

  • ​The course uses Lesson 3 of Genki, a Japanese text book. Therefore, Knowledge of Lesson 1 and 2 of the textbook will be necessary.

Limited Course Sizes

 

Each course has a different maximum number of students. I try class sizes are small so that I can ensure everyone is progressing at the same pace, and get the attention they need if they are having trouble understanding or want to ask questions.

 

The minimum number of students for a course is 2. If a course does not reach that minimum number, the course will be canceled and payments will be fully refunded.

Length of Lessons

 

The length of each lesson is 60 minutes. However, when the lesson has only two students, the lesson is folded to 50 minutes.

Textbook

 

Beginner A01 and A02 students do not need to purchase any textbooks, as all instructional materials will be provided. For Beginner A03 and A04, Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese, Volume 1 (3rd Edition) will be used.

Lesson Requirements

 

All the couses are done online via Zoom, so you will need a Zoom account, computer (not smart phone), and a microphone and headphones so you can talk and see the shared screen during the class.

The application process for all courses is on a first come, first serve basis.  To reserve your seat, you need to purchase the course via a link I set up. Please fill out the form below with your contact information, and I will send you a link back via email where you can complete the payment process.

Cancelations

 

Students can cancel and receive a refund when cancel is done a week before the course starts. However, payment service fee (〜 6%) will not be refunded.
